Challenge

After a 2012 KOCCA virtual fitting grant, only technology development and a prototype existed. The potential of the world’s first O2O virtual fitting had to become a sellable product and a global brand.

Approach

I led productization, branding, UI·UX planning, core feature strengthening, and design direction, reaching a commercial product in three months with one junior UI designer and one senior researcher.

Using my personal LA network, I staged US launch events at Westfield Topanga and LA Style Fashion Week, personally handling promo film planning, storyboards, shoot direction, and editing. I planned and ran global influencer partnership events with Whitney Port, Julianne Hough, and others, converting them into press coverage, investment materials, and global sales assets. Every press release during my FXGear tenure was written by me personally. I then led service and UI·UX planning for FIT’N SHOP, the mobile companion app, driving the O2O business model.

Result

FXMirror grew into the leading virtual fitting system with 520+ units exported to 29 countries. Partnerships included JD.com in China, an LVMH workshop, Lane Crawford, Lotte, Softbank, and Audi, and the work contributed to KOCCA grant funding of approximately $4.5M.

Frequently asked questions

Where did you start when only the technology existed?

Productization. Branding, UI·UX planning, core feature strengthening, and design direction, completed with one UI designer and one senior researcher in three months.

How was the global expansion designed?

A US launch event through my LA network, promo films, and celebrity and influencer partnerships created global sales assets, and that credibility won the JD.com supply deal and retail partnerships with LVMH and Lane Crawford.
